I’m really, really sad to find Toribei closed down midst the pandemic. More people should have come and enjoyed the opportunity to experience Japanese food beyond raw fish and ramen. I went there three times with my partner- The skewers and Izakaya were always fresh, well-cooked and just fun to sample so many different flavors, and the service was consistently good. The value is also amazing, a few skewers and some shared dishes will run about 15-25 per person. I so wish the chef/owner would bring it back!!

We like a lot hanging out. Last night we came to this superb place which friends recommended to us. We had a delightful time there with fine food and an efficient crew and a great chef. We put this place in our list and we shall no doubt come back very soon. We warmly recommend.
Everything was amazing. Absolutely delicious, authentic, fresh flavors, attentive and knowledgeable staff and a beautiful interior.
I always wanted to try these dishes and was happy to find one in Brooklyn. Decided to make it a group experience and very glad I did. My teenage children enjoyed it and so did I. Only thing we didn't enjoy was the liver. A bit to bitter. We will be back and would line to sit at the counter and enjoy other items.
Toribei wasn’t our first choice for Sunday lunch,however all restaurants around had crazy waiting period for a group of 3 friends.so we decided to try Toribei.and you know what? We were seated right away ,waiter took order in a second,food was brought hot and super delicious within like 10 mins from placing an order.They have pretty various menu and plates are not large,so you have enough space to try different stuff. There was no pressure for us to leave,like you know in busy places,where people wait in line and you eat ASAP,cause someone dying to have your table.there was NOTHING like that.we enjoyed our meal without a rush,had our conversations while eating and overall had some good time.Highly recommend the place for some nontrivial dinner in a relaxed atmosphere
Delicious and authentic yakitori. Yakitori don dinner set pictured. Love any restaurant where the chef is as involved as they seem here. Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable.
Great addition to the neighborhood! Can't wait to try more things on their menu. It's currently BYOB and they provided frozen beer mugs for drinks my husband brought - huge kudos on that!
Great service and great food. It's way too quiet on a Sunday afternoon for a restaurant of such great quality. Hope more people will know about it soon.
