I came here once with my Fiancé and loved it. Then decided to surprise my parents for an anniversary dinner and everything was delightful. I made a reservation online and Amanda accommodated all of my requests. After I told her it was for a celebration she gave us complimentary sake as a congratulations. We sat in the Tatami room where we had our own space and it was very clean. The food came out at a steady pace which was great because we took our time and did not feel rushed. Even though we are in a pandemic , the service was great!! I can't wait wait to go back!!

We enjoyed the tasting menu with sake pairing. Everything was very tasty. Personal favorites are the fried corn with matcha salt, marinated cucumbers, charred salty edamame, Shishito peppers. Everything was very well seasoned and flavorful. Etsu Dragon cocktail and all the different sake we tried were unique and exciting. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and happy to be there.

Super cute Japanese tapas restaurant, with bar and authentic decor. The menu is extensive and their is both indoor and outdoor seating options, in a courtyard with lanterns. We sat shoes off in a wooden closed in booth and sampled a bunch of dishes. Izakaya can be meat heavy but there are vegetable options if you look. Attentive and informed staff, very nice people. I didn’t eat one thing I disliked except squid yakitori, but I always hate squid so I don’t blame them for that.

Passed by Wakuwaku every time we went to Sunrise market. Finally stopped for lunch in the outdoor seating area. They did a good job making it inviting, with a wall of lanterns and heater underneath the table to warm your legs. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. Yakitori, takowasa, chicken karrage, salmon donburi, grilled smelt were all tasty. Will visit again next time we are in the area.

Stopped in for lunch and was delighted by the warm ambience and complementary hot green tea on such a rainy day. My friend and I ordered both types of gyoza appetizers (veggie & pork), as well as chicken teriyaki and an eel bento. Everything way deliciously flavorful and came with the cutest pickled sides. The staff is also incredibly welcoming and kind. I’ll be back for sure. Highly recommend going in for a meal at Wakuwaku if you’re in the area.

We really enjoyed the Chef's Choice Yakitori, every piece made us dance a little in joy. They were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the flavors were delicious. We highly recommend getting the Yakitori here!! We were less impressed with the Washugyu steak. It seemed like just a regular steak- not especially soft, tender, or marbled as we had expected for the cost. It also came almost fully cooked, to our surprise, and putting it on the grill felt like we were just reheating it at the table. In terms of spacing, the restaurant is very well socially distanced with glass panels in between if you're in the more open area. We were seated by the bar and we basically had the whole area to ourselves.

Great food. Didn't like ordering online and paying online small portions. Recommend this place to everyone. Crab balls in pic

So I love the food here, but the ordering process is a hot mess. I actually think they have good staff too- but contactless ordering doesn’t work. Whatever money they might save, they actually lose because customers can’t ask questions and are pretty much left to fend for themselves their entire meal. I would love to have my birthday here, but am not interested if I’m not going to have table service. Editing my response to say to put this off on Covid is poor management. Your staff has to come to the table one way or another- in my case, we never got the drinks we ordered (took 30 minutes in total) so we had to flag staff down (twice) to make that happen, and we didn’t get some of our food either (one item was sold out even though we were able to order it, no idea what happened to the rest, we eventually did get it) That doesn’t prevent Covid- they came to the table even more often to fix all our issues. Don’t act like we don’t care about coronavirus to make up for having a system that poorly works. 86 table service then.
