Nice little museum. Had a beautiful exhibit from a Mexican artist. Covid precautions in place.

We ate lunch at the wonderful restaurant there called Crepe Town. They had very interesting and delicious flavors in all the food we ate. They had a great vegetable soup on the house to start. The egg Chilaquiles were great and so were the crepes. We really enjoyed this quiet sanctuary for lunch.

We truly enjoyed visiting the museum. I posted the 4 out of 5 stars I think because while we loved the gift shop, there was no attendant or cashier so we couldn't buy any souvenirs. ️ The art was incredibly beautiful and unique. ️

Beautiful and engaging artwork. Director Ramirez is such a welcoming person and is leading the museum to a more spirited and classy direction. I always make sure to stop at Crepe Town, the restaurant inside the BMFA, when I visit.

It's a small town museum and reflects that spirit. It is primarily 4 galleries and on the day we visited hosted a main exhibition by a national artist held in 2 galleries and in the ancillary wings, there was a group exhibition of local talents and a solo by a regional artist. Honestly wasn't expecting the Menil but assumed that the lights would of been turned on to view the paintings. Overall a cute and raw fine arts haven.
