Not because it's free parking, boat ramping, fishing, crabbing, net casting, picnic tables, portable potty, lighting at night, this is one of the only things we have around. (Down the road is another fishing area but no parking pavement or ramp boat and no lights but good fishing spot.) Come prepared and have fun and not as a sportsmen comparable who has caught or the big fish. Enjoy at your own risk. Remember the new memories.

Located just of highway 48. Recently the ramp's dock was upgraded adding a fishing dock. Ramps are well maintained and so is the parking. Limited space for parking the vehicle and trailer, first come first use as this is a free boat ramp. No services other than a porta-jon. This ramp is a popular fishing spot for anglers just learning to fish, thus it get crowded on the weekends, especially during the holidays. Expect oyster beds and strong currents as this ramp is fed by the Brownsville ship channel. The surrounding area is open property which is used to host (unsponsored) mud races, some unruly behavior has been observed by those attending these events. The sole entrance to the ramp from highway 48 lacks adequate traffic controls (the posted speed limit at this section of the highway is 75 MPH) so be careful with cross traffic. During the hours of darkness this road junction becomes more treacherous. Opposite the ramp (across highway 48) is San Martin Lake (high salinity body of water) which is shallow and open for kayaking and shallow draft boats).
