A lot of people don't like this place because we grew up here, and it's not \cool\ to like local things I guess. Even though I don't work here, I have worked at a lot of bars in Austin with good and bad environments, and this is a good place overall. I don't care if that seems \lame\. Their staff is consistently friendly and the women are pretty. That's all the excuse I need.
I cannot begin to express our disappointment that one of the best DJ's ever at Pardners was let go by one of Mike's most lame excuse. He blamed the DJ for lack of business, but what he really needs to do is look in the mirror. Dustin started about a year ago & we had almost stopped going there to dance because of the lame DJ's Mike had been hiring. They knew nothing about dance music, or what songs to play for dancing. Often times they'd play b rated or songs you didn't know & never took requests! In comes Dustin who not only knew old & new country, but he also knew Texas artists. To make it even better, he took requests all night long! He wanted to make the customers happy. Then, Mike hires bands thinking he could improve his business, not so, even worse! So we hate to say this but it's not the D.J for sure! Not the band's either! So, what or who do you think is driving everyone away? Until Dustin comes back & after 6years of being faithful customers, we are out of there. Sometimes people, you just cannot fix stupid! Lampasas for dancing, we guess!
Decent bar, but music is mostly outdated and the DJ hardly ever plays requests. Not to mention the DJ plays music all night that makes you think his goldfish just died or something. We go for a good time, not a long time so cheer up and play music people can drink to!
Now Im no drinker, so i cant say much about that I go to play pool and have fun they have a few pool tables and the people there are great. Large dance floor. Only 4 stars cause its very smokey which is typical for bars but something i dont like.
