Lovely temple servicing Salinas. It survived all if it's members being hauled away to the internment camps during WWII. A few families revived the temple and it thrives today. Over 100 years old. We visited on the occasion of their annual Obon Summer festival. Lively exhibitions, beautiful bonsai, and amazing food. Several attendees came in summer kimono. Beautiful grounds, lovely alter and kind individuals.

Went with my family to the Obon Festival. I didn't know there was a temple in that area. Lots of Japanese food and desserts. I got the Beef Shish Kabobs with Rice Balls. They were delicious. I bought some dessert that was a small rice ball with what looked like Chocolate, they were very good and not too sweet. I also bought from a vendor, string of Cranes and a round ball made out of paper flowers with small beads to hang. It has beautiful colors. As a crafter myself, it was worth the price.
