I highly recommend Buffalo Doula Services, specifically a postpartum doula, to any new, first time moms. Kayla, our doula, provided support and assistance for both my son and I. She helped with light housework, watched the baby so I could catch up on sleep, and always offered emotional support and advice. This service is worth every penny!

I gave birth to my first baby in May, and Jen was an essential part of my entire pregnancy. I leaned on her at several points when I needed someone to listen or to say I was doing a good job. No one tells you how early the judgement and mom guilt starts! She reassured me when I needed it and gave advice when I asked. The confidence she helped me develop as a pregnant mom is still serving me well with a busy three month old. Despite my “intuition” that I would go into labor before my due date, I ended up going a week past. In the last weeks of my pregnancy, she checked in on me frequently offering unbiased support when I really needed it (instead of the dreaded “you’re still pregnant?”). My labor was fairly long, and she helped both me and my husband get through. From encouraging us to rest in the beginning to providing me with calming touch at the end. I’ve been a doula myself for a few years, and my experience with Jen was humbling and showed me what is so vital about this role. We had a perfect for us birth, in large part thanks to Jen. Throughout it all, she was always there whenever I needed her. She also took stunning birth photos for us, which I will cherish forever. I highly recommend Buffalo Doula Services!
Jen was my partners doula for our second child. She was phenomenal! She was always there when we needed her morning, noon, or night. If we have a third we will definitely be hiring her again.
Jen was such a fabulous coach and support for me during labor, as well as before, and after the birth of my second child. She has such a supportive and kind spirit. I would highly recommend her for anyone seeking a doula, birth photographer or lactation consultant.
As a birth photographer, I'd have the pleasure of seeing Jen in action as a birth doula at births, and she is one of the most present, caring, and attentive doula's I've ever witnessed. Not only that, but she is kind, patient, and just an all around calm presence. She is also an incredible birth photographer herself and I am so happy to have the pleasure of knowing and working with her.
