We are so happy that we chose to adopt from PCHS! The owners are very quick at responding back to questions. It is very clear that they care for their animals. We just adopted a kitten. We got to meet her and the other kittens in a timely manner. The gentleman at the shelter was super knowledgeable and helpful. It was a very thorough adoption process with very thoughtful questions about providing a good quality of life for the animal. All of the staff we have had interactions with were very nice. We are so thankful for PCHS for finding out kitty and giving her a forever home.

I have not yet been able to take the cat I want in. Is a wild cat. They provide all for you to fix, give shots and they return the pet in 3 days. If there is an adult female or male. They provide the needed surgery. At no cost to Pender county residents. This, keeps the animal population controlled. You can keep the animal or put it back in the wild but at least they're not multiplying. I feed 3 cats and I am trying to catch the mom and kitty so she does not get pregnant again. All this information was shared and I got advise over the phone. They do try. I know they may sound rude at times but try to understand, sometimes they are short handed and really cannot give you the exclusivity you get in a private clinic. They are providing a service to protect cats and dogs. To military personnel. I am a veteran and a resident. Do not take a negative attitude. Please, look at the big picture. If you get transferred, you may or may not consider the fact that you might not be able to take your pet. That means that pet will suffer the loss of a family. Not every service member takes the time to turn them back. They just leave them behind, homeless. Trust me, I see it often. There job is protecting the animals. Thank you.
