Daniella, the staff @ sample table, is super friendly and a local school mom. Laurie, from Barnes and Noble, is really nice since I've spoken with her when she worked at Barnes and Noble for many years. It's always nice to meet same friends and acquaintances in the community. Certainly make me feel we live in a close community within metropolitan Los Angeles.

The staff is so nice here and the line is usually short. Before the pandemic I brought in my own reusable bag and realized it was ripped. One of the staff members insisted on giving me a new trader Joe's reusable bag to replace it free of charge (she had the manager approve it) I love this store!!!

I love trader joes but there are two extremely important problems. They over use single use plastics and their flowers are refrigerated. The flower issue is frustrating because they have good flowers but half way thru the day the flowers are starting to get alil iffy. But the single use plastic issue is huge. Its not for all fruits and veggies but a ton of them are wrapped in plastic that isnt present at other stores. I assume this is to keep food fresh and reduce food waste. But food waste while horrific is far less devastating than industrial scale single use plastic waste. Some of these packages will exist for several hundred to several thousand years before breaking down to a level that is still not biodegradable. Humanity will be either colonizing other galaxies or a fossils in earths expansive life before these plastics degrade. TJs isnt the worst offender but of grocery store produce, its not good.

I went to get cookies that a friend who works at another TJ's brought to share on Sunday and my husband had to have them. I also got snowman hot cocoa things that looked interesting. When I got to the store, I was greeted and asked if I needed a sitdown cart, then offered a cart. Everyone was very friendly, and as I left I called for my husband to open the trunk, and an employee that had just walked out offered to but my bag in for me. I was very impressed with the way I was treated.

Situated across from the Calabasas Commons where the old Babies R Us used to be. It’s your typical Trader Joe’s- clean, nice selection of quality items with friendly and helpful staff.
