Some great rock art panels are included within the monument area.

Dove in to the BLM visitors center in Caliente for intel on The new bike trails and camping in the area. They hooked us up and got us in the groove. Had an amazing 2 days of late fall riding and camping. The trail system is new with 2 crews working on more trail. Its amazing terrain with very creative routing and construction. They are working on connecting Kershaw Ryan State Park Campground by single track trail with the trail system at Barnes Canyon. Its an 8 mile drive from the campground to the trail head from the south side of town to the trail head beyond the north side of town. Soon it will be a sweet Mtn. Bike ride to it. Basin and Range National Monument is actually officially pretty far west of Caliente, but this part of Neveda is the heart of the Basin and Range country.

Otherwordly. You can see from far away an art installation called 'The City' built by Heizer. It is supposed to open to the public when completed. The roads are decent into the monument. No real trails worth taking from the east end. A good drive to see this area protected.
