We parked our RV here as members of Harvest Hosts in the lot that they share with Samoa cookhouse. Charming museum.

Didn't go to the museum, but had lunch at the cook house. The food is brought to you in big bowls, and plates for your meal, and you serve up what you want to eat yourself. The food was exceptional! The fresh baked bread, served with salted butter is a definite highlight! I had the potato chowder, and couldn't believe how freaking delicious it was!! Lunch included corn, mashed taters, gravy, a bean mix cooked with ham hocks all night, and boneless fried chicken. Very well worth a special trip just for the food! Our waitress was a very sweet woman, and made our lunch memorable.. excellent meal!!

Talk about a trip back in time... these historical places like this are amazing, showing a time when things weren't necessary easier by any means but, they were definitely a little more down home, old fashioned, work your knuckles to the bone way of living. Thank you for keeping these places open for the public I'm sure I speak for more than a few that It's much appreciated!!!

This place is full of local maritime history. It was full of artifacts, pictures and tidbits of records. I would love to see this area restored to its former maritime and logging glory.
