As a child I would go here with my late grandfather, Ed Thomas. We would walk around and he would proudly show me the planes they were restoring and caring for. He was a B17 NoseGunner in the big fight and seeing him around the birds really made him happy. When he passed away we had his memorial service here and his ashes were given a final ride in the missing man formation. What I would do to go back in time and spend another afternoon with my pawpaw there in the hangars. Thank you deeply for everything you all do. I'd love to take my son there one day.

Amazing place to learn avaition WW2 history. Plan to spend two hours. Kids are excited to go in the aircraft. Avery was a great docent who answered our question and assist us with taking photos. Most of the docent are veterans. Please support the living air museum.

This is an amazing museum! They have an immense amount of authentic, rare warbirds at their hangars, most of which are airworthy. If you visit at the right time, you'll be able to catch one of their planes starting up or doing an engine run, or even doing flybys (like what happened during my visit). Their volunteers were so incredibly nice and showed me around their hangars while giving detailed explanations of the planes I was looking at. If you have any interest whatsoever in WW2 aviation, aviation in general, or in having a great time, you should definitely check this place out!

Really neat exhibition of WWII aircraft, many of them fly. We got to see 4 of them take off. You can even go inside some. Great tour guides.

The Commemorative Air force Museum is definitely one of the more exciting Passport 2 History participants! Full disclosure: the real meat of this museum are the planes outside. They have a bunch of cool ones, and you're right out on the runway of the airport, so there are actual real planes taking off and landing all the time, which is cool. The coolest part is that there are two planes and a helicopter that you can go into! My toddler loved it! He (literally) didn't want to leave each one to see the next. It was kind of a problem actually... But eventually after our guided tour, we were left to go at our own pace, so we literally went and sat in each of those planes and helicopter again for quite some time as my son for to push all the buttons and "steer". This is definitely a great place to check out and take your toddler. It is a 10 suggested donation for adults, which while I understand it, felt a bit pricey as you're not going to be here too long. Not so much for going once... but this is the type of place I'd love to visit again and again with my toddler just for a half hour of sitting in the plane, and I wouldn't be able to afford that. The museum part is okay, but fairly small. It's definitely an afterthought to the planes. If you're traveling from LA, there are a TON of places to see not far from here... so you could make a day or it. Check out The Western Foundation of Vertebrae Zoology, The Pleasant Valley Historical Society Museum and Botanical Gardens, The Antique Mall of Camarillo to name a few...

Amazing museum with some really cool old planes. I don't know much about the planes but there was a p-51 mustang and a tail-dragger among other awesome planes.
