Food was really good and the menu selection was awesome. Will have to go back many times more to try everything we wanted. Shanghai noodles were the only thing I wouldn't order again. The buns and dumplings were great, pork ribs were a bit dry but flavor was good. Beef and scallion stole the show- must order!

I did try this place. This is my second time to eat here. The food is so good. The taste is really Shanghai flavor. It will be my favorite restaurant.

I've eaten here before and the food was really good. This time I ordered new things, two soups (winter melon and jumbo shrimp) and a noodle dish (Scallion Sauce Over Boiled Shanghai Noodles). They were all bad to the point where I couldn't eat more than a bite. The soup basically tasted like slightly flavored water. The noodles tasted like noodles with just soy sauce. Also the shrimp tasted off (ammonia-like). I found this surprising since most of the food I've eaten here in the past was really really good - like just a week before. Either these particular dishes are not good, or maybe there was a new chef working today... I don't know... Based on the bad shrimp, I question the quality of their food... Don't think I'll be returning to this joint unfortunately.

I’m so happy they reopened! Shanghai fresh was one of my favorite places to eat before the pandemic, and I’m happy to say that it’s still amazing after reopening! The duck noodle dish is incredible

It was one of many little Chinese restaurants in Cambridge, conveniently located just out side of Central Square Station. As the name states, it serves mainly Shanghainese cuisine, and as such I ordered stirred fried Chinese rice cake, the wok temperature was controlled just right and the rice cake tasted soft with a slight taste of burned flavor, which makes it great. The highlight of the meal was the Sweet and Sour Lotus Roots, which I had it many times before but never presented in this manner, it was almost like a Michelin star restaurant style presentation, but pretty okay on the taste. I felt the slices were cut a bit too big, hard to bite on, and the sweet and sour sauce hardened after the dish was put on the table, overall, it was an interesting presentation and okay taste. Most importantly, I want to note the service of staff there, they don’t smile, just stop by and drop dishes in your table, and asks if we are finished when we have half of a dish still left and eating. So if you are more of a service oriented person, this restaurant is not for you. Must order - Sweet and sour lotus root - Stir fried Chinese rice cake Score (five star scale): Environment: ️️ Services: ️️ Taste: ️️️ Price: USD20-30/person

Tried 2 times after pandemic, sad to say the chef must be changed. *The black pepper beef chunks taste so different from before. Not juicy not chewy and no sauce at all. *The sweet n sour ribs taste nothing but hard to chew, the flavor remains outside and not strong enough. *The Chestnut Chicken stew - the chestnut itself has chemical taste and the chicken, not marinated enough so it tastes nothing either. They need to add more soy sauce and sugar to make the flavor stronger. I really Hope they can change the chef back, cuz this is really not an authentic Shanghai Food for me anymore. Will come back if they change the chef, otherwise, not an any chance.

Great, authentic Chinese food. It was quick service and everything was very fresh. We had a tofu dish, dumplings, and green beans. The prices were also very reasonable.

Really liked the Mapo Tofu, Shanghai wonton noodle soup and chefs marinated duck!
