A great place to visit San Diego history. I gave it 4 stars because online tickets seem a bit confusing. But I didn't have a problem getting tickets there on location. They have a gift shop. It gets busy during Christmas and Easter, mostly because of the events during that time. They have plenty to look at. The train rides are about 45min. They used to be an hour. There is a historic shop nearby (the Campo Stone Store). You also get views of Mexico on the train ride.

This train museum is a jem in the area. I lived here for 6 years and unfortunately didn't visit this back then. I'm glad I did now though, they have an awesome equipment layout, tons of old iron and you can ride on a cool train, my wifey even got to blow the horn. Bring you friends, kids and have a great time.
Amazing place to learn and explore more about trains!
Enjoyed train ride and friendly people. Indoor exhibit is intense and enjoyable. Long outdoor walk was intense in the heat so bring water and beware of this place of you have a bee allergy, lots are present and flying around.
Due to COVID, the museum was closed, but they still charged 25 per adult for just the train ride which felt like a ripoff. The train ride is very short and uneventful. At least my 3 year old son still had a good time.
