This is a small access area for putting in canoes and kayaks just south of the West Liberty Lions Park. You can pull off of SR-245 into the small grassy area on the east side of the river. Not for the faint of heart, this reach of the Mad River is not cleared or otherwise maintained, so expect the occasional strainer or other obstruction until you reach Lippincott Road, beyond which the liveries keep it cleared. In the summer, expect to drag as much as you float due to low water levels until about Lippincott Road. This is also a public fishing access site maintained by the local Trout Unlimited chapter. Bathrooms and additional parking available across the road at the park.
