Learn more About ArtsinStark ArtsinStark is a 50-year-0ld non-profit that uses the arts to create smarter kids, new jobs, and healthier communities.  lion.  We run the Annual Arts Campaign (March 2 – May 20) to raise money for all the arts. We own the Cultural Center for the Arts.  We put the SmArts Program and Genius Project into the schools.  We revitalize downtowns: Arts District, First Fridays, 20/2o Vision.  Over the last 12 years, we’ve awarded $13 million in grants to the 7 largest arts groups — and another $2 million to 900 small non-profits, artists, and schools.   We reach 200,000 people every year.  And, ArtsinStark is a winner of the Governor’s Award for the Arts. Our impact… JRC Adult Day Center’s Intergenerational Connection Program featured artist and musician Cyn Warren, who presented a program on relieving stress through music and dance with Artful Living students. With the support of a Special Project Grant, the agency will continue the program this year by offering programs in storytelling, watercolor, and yoga instruction for 34 senior adults and 12 preschoolers. JRC Adult Day Center’s Intergenerational Connection Program With the support of a 2019 Special Project Grant, Banyan Dance Theatre presented a Caribbean culture program at First Row Center for the Arts in celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month in June.  Over 100 participants enjoyed many activities including an Afro-Cuban drum circle with Elec Simon, storytelling with World Of Difference, Haitian folkdance performance, and a Steel Drum performance by Jackson Trinidad Steel Drum Band. The Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children provided a 4-week Arts and Literacy Camp for children with developmental disabilities. Close to 50 participants enjoyed  themed music and visual arts activities  in a safe and stimulating environment relating to Nature & Camping, Space, Under the Sea, and S.T.E.A.M.
