I bought a Log Home from Southland Log Homes in 2018. George Hawk is the representative I worked with in the Canton Texas area. He was a great help in finding just the right plans and the right contractor for me to work with. The home is still under construction, but the contractor that I have working on my home is is great with. We've had to stop construction do to things happening, but hope to start up again in the new year. I would recommend Southland Log Homes and George Hawk for anyone looking for a Log Home.

My husband and I walked into the office, at which point there was an agent and two customers at a table. We were ignored. There was no receptionist to greet us, no one to get information from. My husband went to an office to find someone. We sat for 45 minutes, still being ignored. We left and no one paid any attention. I guess they didn't want our business. We'll buy our home from another business.
George was interesting, to say the least. We spent 2 and a half hours trying to get to the facts of the house. 2 hours and 15 minutes was about his Harley. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Then, he kept interrupting me. Very condescending. For taking 4 years if psychology ( yes, we know that about him, too) he did not read the room well at all. We will not be going through that branch of SOUTHLAND log homes. I can only fathom how long the blue prints would take.
My wife and I talked with George and learned a whole heck of a lot thanks to his knowledge. We will be officially ordering our log home next year and can’t wait to see it get built!
