Great refuge that serves as resting spot for migrating birds and butterflies before they cross the Bay entrance. After hiking the butterfly trail, climbing 6 flights of stairs to the top of the battery and the gun from the USS Missouri, we visited the boat ramp. The refuge has great views, plenty of parking for boat trailers (10 -there was a moveable \full\ sign which lead us to believe the lot can get crowded). The visitor center has very nice exhibits of local flora and fauna. Staff was helpful to identify a mystery plant that a monarch butterfly loved. The one-way window provides a way to watch nature from a climate controlled environment. Wear bug spray.
