Great flavor, small portions. For the price of the plates it was not a very good value. The heirloom tomatoes were just juicy beefsteak tomatoes. The flavors were put together well and presentation was nice. The Rigatoni pesto was tasty, no pine nuts so not really a pesto but still good. The portion was very small for a 25 plate of pasta with no protein. The Modern Rye cocktail was good, a nice take on a whisky mule.

Best polenta ever. The rigatoni pasta with tomato sauce was flavorful. It rained while we were eating and they did the best they could to move us around to enjoy the last of our dinner. Job well done and we will go back.

I’ve been reading about this restaurant several times and meant to check it out one day. To much of my anticipation dining at Carmel so frequently, I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food that we had and the price point didn’t justify at all. The service and received from staff was great but the food and ingredients just didn’t do it for me.

Lasagna was cool at the center. Pesto pasta a little below average. Got tucked in a corner at an empty restaurant and the server made a comment wondering why we were put there. I wondered too. Not a good experience.
