My hubby and I had a wonderful kayaking experience in the sound at Matlacha. We rented kayaks from Carmen and she made great suggestions for the location. Ellis met us at the private launch with the kayaks, provided us with a map and we were off. We paddled across the sound, explored around the islands, went through a mangrove tunnel, and enjoyed the peacefulness of hidden ponds. We saw herons, terns, and a trio of pink spoonbills put on a show for us. When we were ready to go back, we texted Ellis and he met us back at the launch. I highly recommend Carmen's Kayaks. Carmen and Ellis are super nice folks and aim to please their customers. Our day couldn't have been any better!

Carmen's is right on the water. You get a map of the layout of area. Laid back and beautiful trip. I would recommend her over the other choices I had looked at. Great interaction with Carmen and experience.

Went kayak fishing for half a day. For this total fishing newbie, Carmen was patient, kind, an excellent teacher and her enthusiasm for the sport is infectious. I’m hooked - because of her. Thank you!

It's so refreshing to meet an honest person while traveling. By far, hands down, 1000% amazing. Highly recommend! If I could give Carmen's kayaks 500 stars, I would!!

Extremely easy to work with, we send her a message the night before and were able to get a convenient slip in in between her tours. We had tons of fun kayaking around the small islands! We hunted through the mangroves to small ponds, cut across the water around the islands to see dolphins and realized later that those big dark spots at the bottom were manatees, not rocks... :-)
