There was an accident and because of it the road was partially closed (and it was unclear where it opened fully again) and instead of helping direct traffic, the police officers stood by their cars and chatted with each other while cars had their windows down trying to ask them for help. These two seemed like they couldn’t be bothered. They also had their car blocking one lane of traffic, which would make sense if it was to block the accident but it wasn’t, it was just making traffic more backed up and adding even more confusion. Just another bad experience to add to the list.

My car was locked and I was outside in freezing temperatures and the lady cop came and she unlocked the car for me I cannot appreciate your help thank you so much carol stream police department .
Great department! They are very interactive with the community and children and keeping our town safe. Happy to live in a community with an alert and present police force.
Was leaving Savers today on Gary Avenue and an undercover cop in a gray Durango cut 4 of us off going 70 miles an hour acting like he was responding to something almost causing a side swipe accident. When he passed the light he turned off his lights.
