Loved this! What a nice, tucked away spot if you feel like hiking and getting a little dirty. Great spot to catch the sunset!

I came to see some Venus Fly traps but only found some piture plants. I hiked the flytrap trail, checked out the marina area... nice park, good spot to stretch your legs if you are in the area. Not sure it's a destination given the inability to see their signature species... perhaps I just visited at the wrong time of year.

A beautiful state park with great hiking trails and water access to the Cape fear river. Also have a nice marina and boat launch. Many campsites are also available.

Always love a good walk/hike. First time seeing the Venus Fly Traps and Pitcher plants in the wild. Trails well marked and maintained.

Carolina Beach State Park has some amazing trails and the best scenery on the East coast. There are several trails in the area and they are color coated so it's easy for you to follow. This is the only State Park you will find Venus Flytraps in the wild. There are also carnivorous pitcher plants in the area too. Lots of wildlife in the area so make sure you are aware of your surroundings. This is a great place for families and pets. My dog loves to walk the trails with me. Would highly recommend this area for a visit!
