This is such a nice experience for a forest preserve. Right now, you can park near a couple of goats. I brought my dog today (on leash) and the goats seemed interested to watch him for a little while as they munched on their hay. We headed down to the two hundred chickens grazing with their watchdog. The chickens run out of the way for the dog. The dog seems friendly enough but won't let your dog anywhere near the fence. Towards the river there is a flock of sheep, such a beautiful scene with the river and trees in the background. And just north of that are some cows sunning themselves just in front of the footpath. The tent with ducks gets noisier as you approach because the ducks hear you, discuss your footsteps and they all run away from the front to the back of the tent. They are such interesting creatures! So freely walking around this Forest Preserve farm property evokes a real feeling of well-being. I can't believe there are not more visitors. Maybe there is little access into the barns and all. But you really can't miss out on the serenity of this easily accessible gem!

Absolutely beautiful. I love the open space, the fields, trees, new walking/biking trails. Took my dog on a hike up the hills. When long meadow is done its going to be absolutely awesome.

I enjoy this place. There are beautiful walking trails that lead to the river that are maintained. The farm is active; raising grass fed beef, turkeys, chickens and goats. They have a wonderful little store where all is available, including raw milk, eggs and many other yummy items.

Pretty good place for birding, Harriers, Eagles, Horned Larks, etc... can smell at times though.

I love the path through the preserve for running. It's covered with finely crushed gravel, so it's easier on the joints than pavement. And I'm more likely to see deer than humans on the trail. All Grass Farms is also there, so I can buy fresh eggs after.
