I was really nervous moving to MD and unsure if I’d be able to find a comfortable, clean space to work on aerial fitness. Beyond that would I find a good instructor? Would I have to pay fees for aerial hoop at another gym? When I discovered Vertical Addiction all my worries melted away. I immediately felt that this would be my space. I signed up for a year membership and haven’t looked back. Training here has been phenomenal. Spin and static poles! Beautiful clean floors, a wall of mirrors, excellent sound system and most importantly supportive and knowledgeable staff.

I've been coming to Vertical Addiction for about a year now and I can genuinely say that I love it here! All of the instructors are super kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. They really work with you where you are, especially in the beginner classes. The founder, Janice is amazing, too. She's really fun and is definitely invested in making sure everyone coming into her studio is getting a good experience. The equipment is great. The poles can be either spin or static, and are tall enough to practice climbs and aerial moves once you're at the point where you can do them. There are currently 2 aerial hoops/lyras along with crash mats for safety. There's plenty of floor space for learning floor work, learning to move around the pole, and for flexibility classes. The studio was really focused on cleanliness and sanitation pre-covid and they have really expanded this to make sure all the classes are safe and clean during the pandemic. I haven't been back to a regular gym yet, but I keep coming back to the studio because I trust them. Overall, this studio is amazing and I'm so glad to have found it!

What started out as seeking an alternative to the typical gym scene has blossomed into so much more. It took me a year to build up enough courage to take a class. I tried a couple of studios in the area but they just weren’t my vibe. The thought of having to walk in to another studio with my fears and vulnerability exposed made me want to give up, but I’m so glad I didn’t. From the moment I walked into Vertical Addiction, I knew I’d found my place. I was greeted with a warm hello that instantly put me at ease. The studio is immaculate. Nice earth tone colors; ample spacing between equipment so you don’t feel crowded; and a powerhouse instructor, Ms. Janice, who teaches with passion and patience. All of the instructors are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They show you proper ways of doing things like when to engage certain muscle groups and why; how to go in/come out of moves to avoid injury, etc. You will be challenged, no doubt about that, but it’s so worth it. Every minute that I’ve spent training here gets me one step closer to the woman I strive to be and to absolutely loving the woman that I am. I could go on, but you just have to go check it out for yourself. Whatever you’re trying to gain or lose, build or break, find or let go, you can do it here and meet some awesome people while doing it.

I've been trying to take classes here for weeks, as soon as the achedule comes out I look for a beginners drop in class and they are all completely full the second I look. I'm not going to spend money for a pass of I can never even take the classes, even though I'd REALLY like to. I can do most basic pole tricks, some climbing and tricks upside down but I'm not good enough to do the tricks required for intermediate classes. What am I supposed to do?

My friend and I decided to combine our birthdays together and have a pole dancing party. I must say this pole party made this one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. Janice is an amazing instructor and my friends and I had so much fun. I would definitely recommend going to vertical addiction.

Train at this studio! I got the opportunity to work with Janice on lyra choreography and press handstands when I was visiting family in town. Her knowledge of physiology and creativity as a dancer helped me grow my movement vocabulary, and enabled a more free exploration of shapes and timing as an aerialist. Her movement is incredibly fluid, which pairs well with her command of body mechanics. She helped me develop a creative choreography sequence in an exciting way. Her process is exploratory and collaborative. She knew exactly where my physical boundaries were just from watching me move! The studio itself is on the small side, but the welcoming, skilled, and intuitive Janice really make the space. I can't wait to work out here again!

I have been coming to this studio for the past few months and cannot recommend it enough! It has been an exciting introduction to aerial arts and a truly transformative experience for me! I've honestly gained an immense amount of respect for the strength and dedication it takes to learn aerial arts, all thanks to Janice. She has been an amazing instructor and a source of support and inspiration in my time here. Janice is tough, passionate and always has your back! Overall, the studio is a comfortable environment that facilitates personal growth and confidence. All the instructors are highly skilled and there are a range of classes available to suit everyone's needs. Whether you’re a seasoned aerialist or being upside down in the air sounds terrifying, there is a place for you!!
