We loved it! I was skeptical because the park is so close to the city but we enjoyed our camping experience there. All of the spots are pretty close together So depending on your spot you might be pretty close to your neighbors. If booking camp, be mindful of the spot you pick. Some of the campsites are pretty close to the main road that passes by the park so you can hear traffic all night but if you get a spot closer to the lake/one of the more interior spots you don't hear road noise at all. The hiking trails were great. the perch pond was a relaxing little stop for us too. We will go back for sure!

We had great time hiking two trails today. Took water and had picnic lunch on the coast of the lake. Many available bathrooms. A hot day but most of our second hike, three mile, was in the shade of the trees. Not many people out there today. Single day price per person I think is steep. An annual pass would be well worth it if we decide to go more often. Take time to visit the old Penn farm. Great Texas history there.

Most of Northern Texas is flat, wide horizons and lots of sky. When you visit Cedar Hill State Park, however, suddenly you’ve entered another world, a domain of hills and beautiful woods teeming with birds and other animals. Combined with the woods, there is a gorgeous lake which allows for an incomparable landscape this side of paradise. 12 miles of bike and hiking trails throughout the wooded hills are a most for any visitor who loves the outdoors. Great family place for fishing, picnicking, or camping. Plenty of clean showers and bathrooms. Best place to visit with your family during this pandemic.

I just went to hike and was only able to cover Talala trail but it was beautiful. The trail gets covered with wild vegetation in several spots but everytime you get past it, there's an amazing view. The drive through is pretty scenic too
