Beautiful mansion, excellent and informative tour! (Many stairs, so be prepared!) Lovely grounds to walk around. Also, another exhibit hall with many pictures, history and some artifacts. Movies(!) taken in the first half of the 1900's of life in the Hall family: playing with their pet lion, behind the scenes of Gone with the Wind, and other everyday occurrences!!! Such a great tour. I highly recommend.

Beautiful home. Jerry the docent did a great job teaching us the history of the house.

Lovely place for enjoying a safe, socially-distanced picnic for two! So many options, depending on your desired views: rolling lawn and trees; quiet pondside; flower gardens; the manse itself? We found a spot in the shade with a terrific vista. I had called ahead to make sure we could do a little picnic, and the idea was warmly received and encouraged. It goes without saying that we were expected to pack out our trash and leave the spot as pretty as we found it. We felt suspended in time, charmed, and real relaxation set in. It was a beautiful experience. Many thanks to Brucemore staff and volunteers for maintaining the historic grounds and gardens with care.

The staff was so personable, and so knowledgeable of the entire buildings and families. They gave a wonderful tour. This is a must see in the Cedar Rapids area, a wonderful treasure trove of fun surprises. some actually were so amazing that it was surprising that I've lived in Iowa all my life and have never visited before.
