(PWN) was founded in November 1979 by Jean Kruse, Liz Sparks and Carolyn Stephens. These women believed that an organization was needed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to assist women in their upward mobility in the professional and business world. Because of the efforts, dreams, and ideals of the founders, Professional Women’s Network, Inc. is now a reality – women helping women strengthen professions, develop networks, and exchange knowledge. The current PWN membership base represents all elements of service, product, and government industries in the Eastern Iowa Region. Our members are healthcare workers, attorneys, project managers, entrepreneurs, receptionists, real estate agents, students, advertising account executives, sales representatives, stay-at-home moms, retirees, and self-employed individuals, to name a few. PWN is proud of our diverse membership as the strength of PWN is in our diversity of talents and interests, more than our similarities.
