We had a most excellent time there! Well run and managed, something for every sporting clays enthusiast, and a great location/facility. You can rent or buy everything you need. I had never been here before but definitely will be going back.

Last weekend had a great experience taking the Learn to Shoot Safety Class. Instructor Rich Zaorski explained clearly the safety rules, proper gun handling, and techniques to make it easier. All members of the class hit the clay targets! For just 35 you get the class plus a free round of trap/skeet/wobble next visit. Great place to take a new shooter.

My Friend and I were going skeet shooting but first I had to learn how to shoot a shotgun. I wanted to go skeet shooting for years. I've been to the gun range but never handled or shot a shotgun. Mr. Ken Schafer was my Instructor and he was a delight. He had me laughing and put me at ease. The lesson lasted about 30/45 minutes. I thought we were going to do some skeet shooting but we left. I can't wait to go back and do some skeet shooting. I will definitely come back again soon!! I called about a dress code I was told there wasn't one but once I got there I realized I wasn't dressed appropriately. ALL 1. Make sure to wear close toed shoes so when you shoot the clay discs they don't hit your toes. 2. Bring a basecall cap or some other rimmed hat so when you shoot the discs won't hit your face. 3. Bring sunglasses or some other type of glasses. This will ensure nothing gets in your eyes. 4. You can bring drinks - obviously no alcohol. I would check if you can bring a cooler or not. 5. Bring sunscreen as there isn't much shade, except up by the deck near the building. WOMEN 1. I made the mistake of wearing a tank top - DO NOT!! Wear a t-shirt with with sleeves. You want to ensure the gun doesn't slide off to your skin. It will also ensure the shotgun isn't resting on your skin. 2. Consider renting or bringing a shoulder pad. Mr. Ken Schafer allowed me to use one of his shoulder pads. I didn't have any bruising but I didn't expect my should to be a little sore the next day.

Bull Run is an amazing shooting center. We are lucky to have a place like this in NOVA. The ranges are world-class and the trap operators are super cool and experienced. I shot firearms prior to coming here, but I never shot in a formal trap or skeet format before. The staff was helpful and just after a few weeks I shot my first 25. They rent shotguns and have training classes. Come here and have fun!
