Two months ago, our six-years-old daughter began piano lessons with Ms. Ritter. We are very grateful because we see how our daughter is progressing. We see how Ms. Elza is dedicated to our daughter and helps her understand music and technique. We also like that Ms. Elza runs online group lessons every two weeks, where children share their music with others. These activities encourage our daughter to practice more and learn how to play the piano on her own without forcing her. Thank you Ms. Ritter, for your patience and guidance!

If you would like to REALLY learn to play piano, Mrs. Elza is the instructor for you! Professional, structured lessons and mandatory practice schedules are enforced. You will see and hear results and observe progression within a few months. Highly recommended!

I started piano lessons as an adult and was lucky to have Prof. Elza Ritter for my first teacher. She teaches all ages and all levels with amazing results. She stresses technique from the beginning with a kind yet structured approach. She is a wonderful teacher.

I am so happy we have found Ms. Elza! My daughter loves going to piano class and has learned so much. I love how Ms. Elza uses the Russian's stricter style of teaching but makes it fun so the kids do not lose interest at the same time. My daughter has improved significantly since we have been going to her. Cost is also comparable to other teachers in the NOVA area.

I have been studying with Ms. Elza for around 6 years. She is simply amazing, both as a person, pianist, and teacher. Her mix of the Russian and American teaching techniques result in the perfect combination of warmth, enjoyment, and hard work. She succeeds in making her students play music, not only notes. The very way she speaks to you, rectifies your errors, or praises you, makes you want to improve your playing. Thanks to her nature, you naturally want to come to your lesson having worked on your piece. And if you feel you could have done better, Ms. Elza’s smile encourages you to do just that. Ms. Elza has truly instilled in me a love of music, a love of piano. It’s not always easy, as, just like everything, piano requires a lot of hard work. Sometimes it’s hard to practice regularly. But Ms. Elza teaches me to think on my own. She doesn’t only tell you what you have to improve and work on. She lets you develop your own ear for music. Ms. Elza pays attention to each and every one of her students, not as a group, but looking at their individual selves, and adjusting to everyone’s unique personality. She picks out pieces based on the person who will be playing them, and lets us have a voice in the matter as well. The skills I have learned in these classes, which don’t only apply to piano, will follow me throughout my life. Although due to moving, I won’t be able to keep Ms. Elza as my teacher, she will definitely stay a dear mentor and friend.
