I would really like to give it a better rating, but I’ve been here a few times for breakfast and there’s nothing special. I will say that the servers are nice, but the food is just average. Not bad, not great, just “meh”. It’s too bad, because with their location and their cool retro-kitsch building/brand, this little restaurant just minutes from Manito Park could be something really special. If they could get the breakfast to the level of The Cottage Cafe, this place would have lines outside every morning, every day.

Beautiful architecture. Lovely atmosphere and excellent staff. Staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating to all needs. The menu has a wide variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Excellent meals and food as well as deserts.

I brought my friend here for Fathers' Day breakfast because the food is reliably good and close to home---frequented by seniors.. The place was full and uncomfortably stuffy. I left the booth and told the owner I was getting faint and needed fresh air. He reacted like a male chauvinist; defensive and unapologetic. Soon the air-conditioning kicked in and saved an aggravating start to our meal.

Our son’s my friend took us here for Sunday breakfast before we left town. At about 10 am there was no wait, quick friendly service, bottomless very good coffee, eggs Benedict three ways plus chicken fried steak and all the other wonderful breakfast menu selections you would want. Ample parking, South Hill area. Charming and reasonable. Reminds me of every family diner in the past. Except the food is so much better. Delicious eggs Benedict. The half-order omelette is just right for me. My favorite breakfast spot.

I really like it. Service was fast, turkey sandwich cob salad and French toast.. all of them tasty, great portions, friendly stuff, prices are moderate. I think you should really really try it.
