Ignore the comments from the women demanding to show their cleavage. Marion is PACKED with Mennonite and Plain folk. You can’t always tell them by looking at them. Moral of the story: if you see bonnets and beards, dress appropriately. At the very least: be respectful of their religious beliefs, and don’t stab them in the back with a bad review. That’s petty. Good people with a good selection. Love the hanging baskets.

We have been getting plants from Shady Lane for several years. EVERY plant we have purchased has thrived! The owners are pleasant and have great integrity!
Extremely helpful, patient, and pleasant staff. We are starting our landscaping from the beginning and the gentleman took time to walk us through what they have and provided details on how they grow and what environment they do best in. Awesome experience, amazing customer service!! We are now confident in what will work best for our space and plans.

The owner is a judgmental bible thumper. This WAS the best place to buy plants. Last time I was there (a few months back) my daughter and I were there and purchased 80 in plants and she told me not to come back again unless I put on a shirt. Believe me, if I'm with my kid, it's appropriate attire. She could have asked me to leave upon arrival over a darn tank top but no.. she wanted my money and then humiliated me after she got it.
