No business is error free, so when those errors occur the treatment of the customer reveals the character of the people running the business. Day Violins made one such error when dealing with my teen musician. Their response was to be honest about what happened, complete the work anyway, and come to a more than amicable payment arrangement. They did this without my complaint or pressure. I was, honestly, surprised when I went to pick up the item we had left for repair and found the work done - and done well. Day Violins is an hour drive for me and there are much closer music shops. I'll skip past them all to work with a business like this. We've been in the NOVA music scene for several years now and they came highly recommended. Now I know why.

This is my favorite strings shop in Northern VA, and it’s SOOO nice not to have to go all the way to Potter’s in Bethesda from Fairfax! I am a professional violist and strings teacher and I have gotten my viola repaired several times at Day Violins, every time fantastic work and great customer service!! I can’t recommend them highly enough :)
Our music store was closed but my son's bow needed to be rehaired so I tried this one closeby today. They told me 70 rehair and 95 for new bow. New bow seems to be an easy choice. So the guy took my old bow to the back of the store and came back with a new one. I later realized that my son's old bow was never returned back to me until I got home. So I called to find out what happened to my old bow. Here is what they said your old bow went into an exchange program. BUT at NO point this was ever mentioned/discussed when I was in store nor I gave my permission to give away my old bow. What a practice! I got my old bow back but hairs are all cut and gone so I suppose they will BE EXCHANGED! It only cost me 2 trips and some hairs...What a dishonest business! BEware! Of course I return that new bow!! Next up I will contact BBB
