Great company! Jack Kelly the property manager is awesome and always responds to any problems in a quick and efficient manner. Everyone in the office is super nice and answers any questions you may have. If you have the opportunity to rent with them I highly recommend!!

Did a good job for me for 3.5 years (I was the home owner). I had multiple tenants (no tenant stayed for more than a year) and Rent Charleston did a great job advertising and I never had a single month of rent lapsed or uncovered. They did a good job with background checks and were strict on move out inspections. If the property wasn’t spotless they kept back some deposit for cleaning or fixes. The customer service for me the homeowner wasn’t outstanding but it was definitely good. Would use them again.

Ive been renting a property from rent Charleston for the past two years. Contrary to the other reviews, my roommate and I have had a positive experience with the company. The staff is helpful and friendly and their office is in a really convenient location. I went by the office with questions about moving out and the guy at the front desk, Matt, was really helpful and gave me a card with his email for further questions. The online payment system made things easy and we never had any issues with repairs. Our property is super close to the college and I'll be sad to leave it this summer.

Rented a property for our daughter when she was a student at CofC. Apartment was not clean upon move in. We cleaned it from top to bottom upon move in and upon move out. Move out agent said it was the cleanest move out he had seen. Yet we were charged a 400 cleaning/admin fee for delivering an apartment that was cleaner when we moved out than when we moved in. Additionally - we were charged over 800 for plumbing damage that was not evident in any of the move out photos - and Rent Charleston wouldn't supply any photos of said evidence when we appealed the charge. If the damage was not visible to my daughter or to the move out agent - how on earth can we be responsible for plumbing damage within the walls of your ill kept property. Would not recommend to other parents seeking lodging for college students. Not responsive to calls or emails. Oh yeah - and if you sign your lease early in the spring - they will ask for rent 300-500 more than they will charge for the exact same unit in the same building later in the summer. Basically if you plan and lease early - you get penalized by paying higher rent for the entire lease than your kids neighbor will who rents in August. Too bad zero stars isn't an option here.

Literally the worst property management company I’ve ever dealt with I’m currently dealing with them right now I’ve been with them since August I always pay on time and I keep my place clean they are always on your back over stupid stuff but when you actually need something like a drain unclogged or a sink that needs to be fixed they won’t email you back they are so lazy all they are good for is taking your money. It is February and my drain from my tub still won’t drain and I’ve been here since August... Yeah I would highly advise do not hire this company and do not rent from them because if you need anything done it’s not gonna get done. There are a lot more that can go on but I don’t have enough space.

I rented from Rent Charleston for almost 2 years. I had to get out of my lease early and Chris Short has been nothing but extremely helpful. Every time I had some problem with my unit, it was fixed within 24 hours. I moved out sometime in January and had to pay rent up until March while he could find someone else to take over the unit. When he told me that I was no longer responsible for rent, I received my deposit and prorated rent back within 5 business days. I am beyond grateful for Chris.. honestly I'm giving the 5 star rate because of him. Thank you!!
