Beautiful building with a very important history. Most people don't know that there used to be a light in the steeple, and the church worked in tandem with a tower on Fort Sumter, as a set of range lighthouses that guided mariners safely into Charleston Harbor!

The building is impressive and the cemetery gives the area a spooky vibe, apparently great for ghost tours.
The French Quarter is a wonderful place to explore in DT Charleston. The name recognizes the high concentration of French merchants in the area's history. It's full of so much History and you never know what you are going to find around each corner. St. Philip's Church is the oldest European-American religious congregation in South Carolina and is on The National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1836. This Beaut can be found at 142 Church St. in Charleston.
