Had a few hours to kill in uptown Charlotte so I stopped in here on a quiet Monday afternoon. The Women of the Twentieth Century exhibit was wonderful and did a great job of telling the stories of some extraordinary women, most of whom I’ve never heard of. I was truly engrossed. Highly recommend!

We rented the museum for our wedding reception and it was AMAZING. Allison (the event coordinator) was so attentive and caring and helpful. I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us. The venue was gorgeous and perfect. If you are thinking of the Betchler for you event.. DO IT
Quite an interesting place. It not only has modern art pieces by various artists but also an exhibit about the influence of modern art on the architecture of the building, particularly the clay shingles. The prices are low and you can easily spend a few hours. This place is definitely worth checking out. My favorite work is certainly the living piece on the first floor.
Two floors were closed... so next time I go, hopefully I can give it a more accurate rating
I spent an afternoon walking along S Tryon St and then taking St. Peter Catholic Church as the return point and returning from Charlotte Rail Trail to take 360-degree panoramic photos non-stop. The only thing that shocked me was the artistic statue of the firebird in front of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Thousands of mirrors were covered with the firebird's body, which was very charming in the bright sunshine. At that time, I didn't have much time to browse this art museum because I only had one day to enjoy the sights of the city.
