I can't say enough about how disorganized and inefficient this place is. For the Charlotte location, I gave them my skis, bindings and boots on a Monday. I said explicitly that I needed it by (the same week) Friday. I clarified this multiple times with the guy at the counter who said that if I had come in a day later, this may have been an issue, but 3 days should be enough (it takes an hour to install bindings, maybe less for a professional). He also said that he'd note (when I needed it by) for whoever was mounting the bindings. Well, come Thursday at 5PM I call and (big surprise) they have not done the binding mount! Rather than do the right thing and ensure that it gets done by the deadline (they closed three hours later than when I called at 5PM), they established a new deadline for themselves of Friday at noon. This meant I had to take time out of my day (work lunch break) to get the skis when I could have had them the previous night, as we had verbally agreed. They did call back and apologize about an hour before close, which had me curious why they were calling instead of just MOUNTING THE BINDINGS BEFORE THEY CLOSED 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR LATER. These guys have their heads in the clouds. I won't get into specifics, but I've had a bad experience with the Banner Elk location as well. I will NOT BE COMING BACK TO SKI COUNTRY OUTDOORS, REGARDLESS OF LOCATION. They've proven to me multiple times that they're not worthy of my future business!

Great selection, conveniently located, staff were friendly and helpful. Got everything I was looking for to do some hiking and more.

Our family stopped in this past Saturday morning and we’re fortunate to meet with Tyler for a snow boot fitting. Both personable and knowledgeable, Tyler took the time to provide individual attention with each one of us ensuring that we had the proper flex to match our skiing ability (which differs from each one of us) and comfort. We each left with different brands and flex, but sure we will have the comfort our feet demand as we have plans to ski more this year than ever! Good bye rental lines! Thank you Tyler for your time!

Great product selection, with horrible customer service. Total disregard for customers. I had to ask two different employees to try on boots while their employees chit chatted at the register amongst themselves. First employee was annoyed and said to wait. The employee that eventually helped me was arrogant and demeaning. The employee treated me and my family like we were a bother, and that my prior experience with snow sports had no bearing on what I as a customer was looking for in a product. I asked for my boots to be heat molded and the response from the employee while they pulled out their phone and looked at the time was “I guess we have enough time before closing”. It was 4:30. They brought back room temperature boot liners which didn’t even mold. While my family and I were there we watched a employee argue with a customer trying to purchase items. The employee made a condescending remark saying “I have been doing this for 30 years”. It is hard to justify spending 508.20 while you are being treated as less than. In Charlotte NC there are not a whole lot of options to buy ski and snowboard gear. I will definitely buy online in the future.

I had a wonderful experience getting skis here. They have a large selection of skis and boots and their customer service was exceptional. James, the store manager, spent hours with my boyfriend and I to make sure we had the perfect boots. They have a process that takes multiple measurements of your feet to do custom fitting. He was even able to mold my boots to shape my feet perfectly. I would definitely recommend getting your ski gear from Ski Country Outdoors!

customer experience at this place was bad for me unfortunately. staff seemed very uninformed and disorganized. for example i wanted to get my board tuned and boots molded. it took a lot of thinking and discussion for them to understand what services i wanted exactly. these are basic services for a ski shop to offer so not sure why the confusion. then during boot fitting the staff chose to lecture me on my choice of purchasing boot for another retailer rather than at this shop. the gentleman tried telling me my shoe was too big when in reality it fits very snug. unfortunately he seemed incapable of performing the mold and i had to go somewhere else to get it done. way to much of a hassle for basic services to be performed. hope it was just an off occurrence but not sure.

I came in Monday, 1/28 to buy a new pair of boots. I came in an hour before close, and the guy working clearly did not want to help me. Honestly, I felt like he found every excuse NOT to help so I ended up leaving. I came back 1/29 and thankfully Joe, who is always extremely friendly and helpful, was working and he helped me out. I consider myself very knowledgable about snowboarding, but he also brought up points that I had not thought of previously when considering boots. He's personable and thorough in his explanations, and brought out boots with different feel/price points. He also heat-molded the boots which is huge. Even though I went in there with full intention of buying the boot, I never felt pressured during my visit which I sincerely appreciate. Any time I go back I'll definitely be asking for Joe.
