After dining at Zebra I feel like I can confidently conclude that this is an establishment of convenience for South Park suburbanites who do not feel like driving into uptown for a legitimate fine dining experience that you would expect at a similar price point. The food at Zebra is not bad. The oysters on a half shell with watermelon-cucumber mignonette were certainly more creative than your usual serving idea for oysters, but the flavors clashed more than they worked in tandem in my opinion. The entrees were good. I thought that the crispy skin duck was well prepared and reasonably priced. Their NY strip is clearly an exercise in quantity over quality. For 64 dollars, I can think of at least a dozen places in town you would be better off going if you wanted a steak. Do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else if you are looking for a good steak dinner. The main detractor from the experience is the (unjustifiably) snooty atmosphere. They clearly think very highly of themselves here without the culinary chops to support their lofty self-assessment. I won't go so far as to say that the service is poor. It's actually quite average. If you want a great fine dining experience, just do yourself a favor and take that cab into uptown. If you really just don't want to leave Cotswold/Myers Park tonight and don't mind getting a relatively poor value for your dining dollar, then Zebra is your ideal establishment.

I love Zebra!!! The wine, food and atmosphere was incredible. The people were very friendly and extremely helpful in picking out wine. The wine tasting they have on Friday 's is the best deal in town. You are able to sample from a large variety of wines and the food they pair with the tastings is delicious. Plus there is live music! Great for a date night, corporate event, or a sophisticated evening out with friends. Impressive!

Kim Salahie is the new owner (bought it from Jim Alexander) and I'm pleased to report that the same attention to quality is there. I love the updates he made to the patio area and the wait staff is top-notch. . . but it's the food that will keep me coming back!

The other really good restaurant along with Barrington's. The decor, think South Africa with roaming zebras, is gorgeous. Menu is exciting and varied with fabulous tastes to match. A place for that special occasion or just any night you wish to really step out on the town. Little secret, they also have wonderful breakfast and lunch.

Food and service never disappoint at Zebra, but I have had enough of the manager. I woulld like to think the owner is unaware of what an arrogant jerk he has representing his business. I have never in my life been witness to such unprofessional behavior. If you need help with your wine selection be prepared to feel as if you are at a used car dealership. This man actually negotiates the prices of the wine in order to sell it to you, AND after he tells you how fantastic the wine is, convincing you to buy it, he has the nerve to ask to taste it! Clearly he is full of s**t! My wife and I have over looked how he belittles the staff, and how he seems to think he owns Zebra, several times but they have finally lost our business. I feel bad for the owner and staff because the manager is ruining the experience Zebra is supposed to be.

Great Wine Bar! The service is absolutely stellar. Attentive but not intrusive. Everyone takes a lot of care. Our server was very knowledgeable and adept.

Risotto too salty. Our table was wobbly. Our flower was wilted. They keep serving dishes in wine glasses...cheap wine glasses, thick wine glasses. This restaurant is overrated. I came for lunch with clients and it was much better than this gastronomic dinner mascarade.

Food was good. However, service was very slow and not particularly good. On top of that a 20% gratuity was included in the check. I give a 20% tip when I receive good service for mediocre service I give less.
