Just hoping to share my experience regarding Cherokee County Probation services and officer L.Ward. I was sentenced to 1 year probation after DUI “less safe” conviction. It was a rough year- however I couldn’t have asked for a better or more transparent interaction with the staff. Officer L.Ward effectively communicated all of the terms of my sentence and always followed up timely; to ensure that I was meeting the courts expectations. The teams goal is simply to keep you in compliance and keep you out of jail, if possible. I learned early on in dealing with Cherokee probation, that my experience (good or bad) would largely be determined by my willingness to comply. There are no “short cuts”. As an extension of the courts, you can expect that the team will hold you accountable for your actions. L.Ward is not your friend; but she is friendly. A very pleasant individual to deal with and I’m very grateful to have had her assigned to manage my case. Although I hope to never see her again! With much respect, Edward.
