Today, I woke up at 4 am with the worst abdominal pain of my life, but tried to push past it. 6 hours after that, I was being cared for thoroughly and attentively in a room at Illinois Masonic. Only 6 hours after that, (and during an already set O.R. rotation), I was fully admitted and having my inflamed appendix removed by an incredible team of compassionate, professional doctors. I have no health insurance and thus was having panic attacks on and off throughout the day due to my financial fears; Those fears were put to rest. Thank you to my kind nurses, my surgeon, my social worker, and everybody else on the team who helped me at Illinois Masonic today. The empathy and high quality of care I received flipped my negative view of hospitals that I've held for so long. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only hospital I will consider going to in the future.

Covid procedures mean no visitor except for baby delivery can have one. Arrived random Tuesday evening, had to wait about half an hour in waiting room. Pregnant wife had spine problems. They wheeled her off and left me to wait. Said they'll update me. Got her on a machine to monitor the baby. Prescribed some medicine. Gave pain relief one too just on site. Overall the staff have been friendly. Although not much they can give to pregnant women.

Most genuine doctors I ever met. I'm so grateful for how understanding and comforting the stuff was.

When I went here to the E.R because of recurring health issues I was told by the doctor in the E.R that it’s a place for emergencies and was told that I was using valuable space and to be told that I should have never come here I was truly upset because I felt as though I wasn’t being taken care of properly

Horrible staff. I have unfortunately had family members here and witnessed patients being physically harmed. Yes, you read that correctly. Sadly there is always a cover up. Always an excuse. Always the patient that was the one who needed to be restrained or a number of other excuses. This is NOT true. Yet they will continue to get away with it. I am going to follow with another post to mention the “medical professional” names that I made sure to get since I witnessed how they treated patients horribly. It’s pathetic.
