The Gateway to the West Loop food tour was an outstanding experience. Our guide, Terry, was terrific. He was personable, knowledgeable and gave a running commentary on the history of the neighborhoods and restaurants. There were seven of us food tourists in his diverse, compatible group and our interaction enriched the experience. The food at our five stops was delicious. We began with an Italian meatball and glass of wine that were great. We then went to a Mexican restaurant for a delicious sandwich of chicken on a bun ( not a tortilla) and a margarita. Next we had a great hamburger and beer at a heavy metal bar where management and staff expressed a passion for community service. Then we had a Roman style pizza with an amazing, unique crust. We could choose from a selection of over two dozen pizzas in the only restaurant the owner manages outside Rome. Our final stop was for a wonderful donut and coffee. The combination of our great guide Terry , enjoyable group and five great restaurants made this three hour food tour an experience I will never forget. I highly recommend this Chicago experience.

Did the Best in Chow tour with Dave. It was our first time visiting Chicago and we LOVE trying new foods. Not only did we try some authentic Chicago food but also got my knowledge and history about downtown Chicago along the way. Definitely plan to visit Chicago again and go on another food tour with Chicago Food Planet like the Navy Pier and/or Chinatown. Highly recommend.
I went on the Second City Classic tour about a month ago and it was really fun! Lots of good, classic Chicago food and exposure to things I didn't think I'd like and a lot of variety. Dave was the guide and he was great. Not a super animated guy, but knew a lot about the city and made sure everyone was taken care of. Great tour!
My daughter and I went on the Chinatown Tour in October 2019. Philip was our guide, and he did a great job showing us around. Not only did we sample great food at many different locations, but our guide provided us with history, details, and stories we wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. It was a very pleasant afternoon and the highlight of our trip.
We had a great time on our food tour in West Loop. Our guide was Mark who did a fantastic job. Spoke loud enough that you could hear him well, with all the construction and noise outside. Very knowledgeable. Great selection of restaurants picked. Weather was beautiful and even met a nice couple from NJ. We continued our visit hours after tour. Had a great time and would definitely recommend tour.
