I have worked at Chicago Illuminating Company twice as a wedding planner and have so many wonderful things to say about this venue. The owner (Marta) is incredibly knowledgeable about the Chicago events industry and knows exactly what works in her space. She is easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and truly wants her clients to be satisfied with her space and everything that is provided. CIC is unlike any other Chicago venue - with a clean white open space, connected to a clear tented courtyard. The whole space looks beautiful when there is natural sunlight coming in and so lovely when the twinkle of the cafe lights are on in the evening.

Magical evening. The venue is beautiful and well ran. The wedding was perfect. The main area with bar worked well for mingling before the wedding. Then we moved to the tented area where it was beautifully set up for the ceremony. Then back to the main area for appetizers while a team of magicians converted the ceremony area into a visual fairy land for dinner. The tables were set beautifully and the caterer nailed it. Best wedding food ever! After dinner it was back to the main room to dance the night away. Just lovely.

Our wedding at Chicago Illuminating Company was perfect! We had to reschedule our wedding multiple times due to the pandemic, and our original venue ended up closing. We were so lucky to find Chicago Illuminating Company because they have the absolute best setup for social distancing and Covid-19 precautions. Their outdoor space is gorgeous, and the indoor space (used for cocktail hour only) allows for open air flow through their multiple huge doors. Marta was very easy to work with. She was extremely flexible and supportive given all of the circumstances and adjusted her cancellation policy to allow for any last minute changes. Thankfully, we didn't have any issues and we were able to have our beautiful event. We highly recommend Chicago Illuminating Company for a gorgeous wedding in Chicago, either during or after the pandemic!

I was very upset at how we were categorized as the “suburb” type of wedding not the city type. All I asked her was why was the venue 200.00 a person without the liquor package, I just thought it was a bit pricey but that didn’t mean I was not interested, just curios to know why. Then I emailed later to see about another caterer knowing it would be the same price but she never replied back to me. I thought it was rude that she pretty much formed an opinion of us and assumed we were suburb or hotel type people instead of her venue. She was a know it all with no people skills.

Cool space, great location. Went to Food & News Magazine Party after the NRA, it was great. Big space, Big Bar and plenty of outdoor space.
