It was different. Only 2 stars for food. Concept 4 stars. Big open space. Lots brew selections. Good place for big crowds.

Great place to relax with a few pints and delicious BBQ by Lilly's Q. The staff is friendly and the patio has several wood burning fire pits and heat lamps for warmth. You pour your own drinks (with protection) and the food is counter service so there is limited interaction with other people. A safe option to meet up, hang out and support several local businesses during the winter and the pandemic.

This place has been on my to-try list pre-Covid and I'm glad that it's doing well. District Brew Yards is a brewpub located in the West Town/West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. But it's not just any brewpub. Here you pour your own drinks and pay by the pour. It's a bit different from the typical bar but allows one to sample many things at once to let them figure out what they like. The staff here were super friendly and following all Covid precautions. They even scolded me a couple of times when I forgot a few rules. Much appreciated & I'm glad that they're keeping everyone up to health standards. They are also willing to take time out to show people how to use the pours or share their thoughts on different beers. The selection itself was abundant. There were about 4 stations with their own sets of beers. Each brewery has its own twists that make its beer different from the others. Every beer served is unique from the next. And the outdoor seating is a great option that's dog-friendly. Though I opted to stay inside, I saw that some people chose to sit outside and heat lamps are offered for those chillier days. Food served inside is a Southern BBQ that actually pairs well with the beers. Prices on the food was a bit fair at . I got myself a tri-tip sandwich with smoky bbq sauce which I was impressed by. Speaking of prices, beers here can be a bit on the pricier side when compared to local bars. I estimate that most of my beers ended up being 9 per plastic cup. Though reasonable since this place tends to specialize in craft beers and the self-service-pour is a cool thing to have. Be careful though as prices can easily stack up without one knowing. Overall a great experience that I will enjoy sharing with friends in my future visits. 5/5. Will be back many times.

Our first time here and it was a great experience! A bit chilly outside, but the staff kept the fire pits going and that helped. Being able to sample ounces of the beers being offered was great. I have now found some favorites! The staff is very helpful and made sure that everyone was abiding by the social distancing and sanitation rules. That BBQ though, OMG some great Tri Tip, pulled pork and the wings were all amazing. Thanks for making it a great experience!
