After a bunch of unfortunate events and incorrect information, don't ask, myself and a friend in town for a girls trip, found ourselves walking down Montrose at midnight on a Saturday night. We were trying to get to the Metra Mayfair stop. There are NO signs to direct you. There are these creepy old broke down wood steps overgrown with weeds, NO LIGHTS, you cant see the stop at the top. There was NO sign to tell you these sketchy steps lead you to the stop. Even if there was a sign you wouldn't be able to see it at night because there is no light. Looked more like a stairway to a bad decision in a scary movie. FYI- Metra, bright lights help deter crime.
There are four staircases, I see no ramp or elevator. The waiting areas are enclosed without doors. There is no ticket agent here, so the train conductor handles fares. Bring cash or the Ventra app to pay. Credit cards are not an option at an unmanned station except through that mobile phone app. The plastic Ventra card is not an acceptable form of payment on Metra.
Typical Chicago Metra station. Nothing fancy but no tumbleweeds either.
Would not let me pass Go! and therefore I lost 200.
