Millennium Station (formerly Randolph Street terminal; sometimes called Randolph Street station or Randolph/South Water Street station) is a major commuter rail terminal in the Loop (downtown), Chicago. I think it's a nice station, food and bathroom available. The desk helpers could be a little more .... helpful especially when you haven't used public transit before. Overall, nice versus many other stations. Please, keep your security tight as there are people who will harass riders and follow them.
Metra doesnt make riders wear masks and doesnt actually care about you or your safety. Protect yourself and your kids, dont take Metra.
Pretty normal at Millennium Station with extra covid procedures in place. Hand sanitizing stations and reminders to social distance are plentiful. I ate in the seating area while waiting on the train and everyone around me kept their masks on. You must wear a mask on the train, but you can take a drink and remove your mask briefly to do so. Chicago is strict and it shows, the people seem to be following the rules here.
I love the shopping area of Millennium, There's even a bar with to-go cups. BUT the section of the station where the trains actually r is like a scene from a horror movie. Plus the temperature down there is in the upper 90s in the summer. But my biggest issue is that some of the pilars are falling apart. There is a skyscraper building on top of the station, i hope they are not weight bearing.
