For anyone new to the station be advised that the outbound train platform is on the west side of the station and the inbound (to Chicago) platform is on the east side of the station. Two different entrances.

The newly renovated outbound platform is really nice and features benches, a shelter and heating racks. Lots of connections to CTA buses and the L. Damen Brown Line is 3 blocks away, and the Lawrence Avenue bus stops across the street. This is the closest station to O'Hare on this line, which can be accessed by taking the Lawrence bus west and then catching the Blue Line. Also, the neighborhood seems like it's on the safer side and there's plenty of restaurants near the station.

The Metra is great, almost always on time and you can check the Metra site for live updates. My only complaint is that at this station going North there is a nice covered section with heat. Going downtown there is no covered platform and you have to wait in the cold and/or rain.

New station for northbound trips, nice and sheltered, still unmanned so can't buy tickets. Entrances/exits both on Lawrence and Leland avenues.

Its a train station. Meh. Ride is a bit pricey, but your downtown in a flash. Great option when your in a hurry.
