Came here for dinner right before the pandemic hit and we walked in without a reservation and where seated right away. The restaurant was really nice and had good food! I’ll definitely stop by again whenever I’m in town

I went to TAO in Chicago back in October for my birthday. I had the worst experience ever. Our waiter Felipe was a terrible server. He took a very long time to get our orders, we had to get someone else that worked there to get our waiter. On top of that he got my order wrong. he checked on us once. I was talking to him about wanting to get dessert since it was my birthday and he literally interrupted me said something and walked away. I thought it was very unprofessional and so rude. He never came back to our table, didn’t even get desert or bother to ask us if we wanted to get more food from the menu, I was pretty embarrassed, I had brought all of my friends from LA to get that awful experience there. He pretty much just left us the receipt to pay. You can definitely get better food and service somewhere else.

We ordered take out from #TaoChicago. I originally saw the post about their Burger and they had me hooked and craving it all week. Well today I got to try it and it not only met my expectations but it exceeded and pleasured my taste buds. Yes, it was that good. But when ordering the burgers from TAO today we had to also get: the satay of chilean sea bass, crispy bao buns, triple pork fried rice, and thai sweet and spicy shrimp- my favorite. Thank you #TAO for starting my Labor Day Weekend right! PS Frank and I enjoyed the Burger/Fries and the Chilean Sea Bass and will enjoy the rest over the long weekend! You are reinventing yourself during COVID and I applaud you and want you to know how much we appreciate it. You reopened your doors, you are doing Dine in/Take-out plus now delivering to the suburbs. Bravo and well done TAO!

If you are coming for the experience Tao gives a great vibe, service and display of beautiful food. If you care about how the food tastes - Tao will probably will be a waste of money. The atmosphere is wonderful. They really did a nice job with the decor. The service was great. The only issue was the the seating - the tables for couples are too close to one another - it's like seating on the same table. It was especially uncomfortable when the man next to me start sneezing for a couple of times, or when the waiter's backside start rubbing our table while he tried to reach forward. The food looked awesome, but was disappointing. The only good dish in my opinion was the Crispy Snapper. It's not that all the other dishes were bad, but they weren't good either (taste wise). Definitely worth it just for feeling the atmosphere, but maybe eat something before coming.
