Great atmosphere! Very good and fun service staff! It is casual, but the food is varied and flavorful. It ranges from elevated Japanese bar food to elegant sashimi. The sashimi rivaled some of the best I have ever eaten. There is an excellent selection of sake. This place also has a great price to performance ratio (for the cost of the food, it is excellent quality and taste)!

I went to TenGoky Aburiya on a Friday night. It was quiet and made for an amazing dinner spot! Everyone was well spaced out and they took all the necessary precautions to make it covid safe. The service was excellent! All the food came super fast and wow the food was SO GOOD. The sashimi was so fresh and was such a good value for how much you got! We also got the T.T. Roll which was really good and has a nice kick to it! We also got the tako yaki and the maze soba. Everything was amazing. The noodles in the soba were cooked perfectly! I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!

Upon arrival at the restaurant for our reservations we were informed that the sushi chef was out for personal reasons and so the sashimi section (quarter of the menu) was unavailable which was what we came for. They also could not accommodate non seaweed sushi rolls. I swear the pork belly skewer I was served was chicken and not very good at that. The cod was a bit below average. The sushi rolls were good and large but expensive. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I do not plan to return.

Overpriced. I was expecting more. The Mushroom skewer was the best of my meal. They could have at least included miso soup and chopsticks with the takeout order at these prices. The yakitori was better than what many places serve, but I’ve had better from street vendors in Japan. The wagyu fried rice is good, if a bit salty, but not what one expects for the price/portion. It may be enjoyable if one is eating in (especially for drinkers), but the takeout wasn’t worth a drive into the city. I’m glad I waited to try this after a celebration dinner instead of for the day of celebration—it just wasn’t worth what I paid. It’s not bad at all, it’s just not fantastic either.

DELICIOUS and excellent hospitality! We really appreciates the extra precautions taken here during covid with temperature checks and hand sanitizer. The menu had a lot of variety and we enjoyed everything we ordered.

A wonderful place to have breakfast! They offer a bunch of traditional breakfast dishes in addition to Mexican influenced yummy dishes. My favorite is their bacon, avocado & tomatoes omelette. Service is great and there is even out doors seating. They run the gigantic fire place on cold days which makes the place even cozier. Prices are reasonable and food is always made to order.

any negative reviewer has no clue what they’re talking about. if you care about quality, value, and flavor when it comes to japanese food... this is your spot. it compares to the best japanese restaurants in the country and it’s AFFORDABLE. try the Maze Soba, it’s fantastic, complex and such good drunk/hangover food which is perfect for the 9 highballs they have hahaah i won’t stand for the slander, this restaurant should have much higher ratings... for this reason, don’t trust google reviews except mine. :)

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing, our waitress was so hospitable. The prices are really reasonable for West Loop. The only negative reviews on here talked about portion size, most of the small dishes are literally between 2 and 6...The bigger dishes, like the Maze Soba, is only 18 and it's a huge portion and was fantastic tasting. I highly recommend! Excited to try their sister restaurant Omakase Yume next!
