Vermilion has become part of our regular rotation for many reasons. First of all, the food is OUTSTANDING. Even thou they’re classified here as an Indian restaurant, they’re a fusion of Latin and Indian with the greatest combinations you can think of. The Empanadas are some of our favorites, along with Gobi Portuguese (cauliflower with yellow curry sauce). This place is a must if you like either Latin or Indian. And especially if you like a fusion of both. 100% recommend this place.

Went there on a Saturday. The staff was friendly and sociable. This place has a great design. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I liked.

We booked a reservation through Opentable for New Years Eve. We called the restaurant up an hour before our reservation to check if valet parking was available. On calling, we were informed that the restaurant is closed and their was an error on Opentable and there is no dine in available. They ruined our New Years plan while we were all excited to enjoy a good meal at there outdoor patio. The worse - they didn’t even have the courtesy to inform, text or call and let the customers know of the screw up at their end. Pathetic customer service.

Love love LOVE Vermilion! The cocktails are so inventive and delicious, and the food is incredible! I love the idea of mixing Indian and Latin cuisine, and they execute it so well.

I am slowly getting into Indian food and I would say that Vermilion was pretty good. Our server was very patient with explaining the menu during Chicago Restaurant Week. The appetizers and complimentary naan and fries were great. My friends and I all had the mutton (goat). It was okay, but my mind was probably made up due to me being Jamaican and growing up eating curry goat. The dessert was not tasty at all. However, my biggest complaint about the restaurant would be their portion sizes. I would call this place a tapas bar. I see it more for tasting/sampling foods, rather than going for an entree. So I also thought that it was extremely overpriced. However, the presentation of the food was beautiful.
