Rink is nice and is kept up well. Rental skates are in good shape and are relatively cheap for an ice rink. This wouldn't be an issue during normal times, but I had to bring it up. I understand that, of course capacity needs to be regulated during the pandemic and I definitely felt safe with the amount of people on the rink, but I think the system they put in place could be better. This winter, my family tried 3 times to get on the rink and only on the third time did we get in. The first two times we got there 45 minutes early and there must have been 100 people waiting. I don't remember if the capacity was 25 or 50, but if someone is on the rink, they can skate as long as they want until the zamboni comes around. No rounds, no system, just a one-in-one-out type line. Somewhat annoying, and feels stupid considering they can just implement a better system to regulate capacity.

This is such a great skating rink. Admission is free and there are skate rentals if needed for 7 each. There are heat lamps on the sideline for people who arent skating. No concessions during Covid but just bring snacks. There are restrooms inside which is great. The line to get in is really long depending on what time you go but they admit 50 at a time and put people off the ice when they bring the machine out to resurface so everyone has a chance to skate. So worth it and parking is easy as there's a lot

My daughter and I love this outdoor ice rink! It's free if you have your own skates and 7 per person for rental. Currently they're only letting in a limited amount of people but there doesn't seem to be any issues getting in.

Reviewing during COVID-19: Warren Park Ice Skating ring has been a wonderful outdoor entertainment option during the winter. Its one of the few free rings opened in the Chicago area which is greatly appreciated. The ring is well maintained and organized. You get up to 1 1/2 hours of skating time and there is a limited capacity of 50 people inside (even if they are not skating) so the ice isn't to busy. Do expect long waiting times to access ir during the weekend and on holidays. Be aware that the actual operation hours are 12-7pm. You can bring your own skates or rent them there.
