We heard that the Observatory reopened so we went Sunday (2/9/2020) to check it out. It was so worth the drive! The three men that volunteered there time to be there left us speechless at how much we actually learned! This place is amazing and I hope they stay open! We will be back!

My granddaughter and I have enjoyed the observatory for years. The docents there are very patient with children and I appreciate that. There was a time when my granddaughter would share her ‘vast’ knowledge with them and they smiled and responded genuinely entertained. The facility is marvelous. Very user-friendly. Only downside is that it is not open more often. I am looking forward to the activities they provide.

Beautiful Park in the spring and summer time its hot! I mean hot! Bring your swim suit and head up to Bear Hole or find a nice quiet river spot to enjoy! No glass containers! Be respectful this place is frequented by the Chico PD for misbehaving college students.

Great place to take the family for something different to do. The volunteer staff is amazing at sharing their passion and engaging the kids. Definitely something we need to do more often. Big "events" (lunar eclipse, comets, etc) can be very busy but there is much to be seen on a nice clear evening. Worth going anytime you get a chance.

I went thinking you would be able to see out of the telescope but I guess its only open "once in a blue moon" (not actually but not very often) but they do have a cool place you can chill at and there isn't very much light pollution so it makes for good star gazing!! 10/10

It was pretty cool. The sky was clear. I got to enjoy it until a local cop showed up at 9:30pm and said the park was closed. The hours on Google say it is open until 10:30pm.
